Hillary Whitaker
Attorney at Law
Board Certified Specialist in Family Law
Hillary first became fascinated with the law after Sandra Day O'Connor was appointed as the first female justice to the U.S. Supreme Court. Her interest in family law developed after an internship at The Children's Law Center in Charlotte, North Carolina while she was in law school.
Hillary assists clients with issues arising from separation and divorce including equitable distribution, alimony, child custody and child support. Each client's situation is unique and Hillary wants to help each client determine what is best for his or her situation. Hillary wants to understand a client's objectives and work together with the client to obtain those objectives.
Hillary has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution. Hillary is a NCDRC Certified Family Financial Mediator and has been trained in the collaborative law process. As more people desire an alternative to court, Hillary has helped clients use mediation and the collaborative process to resolve issues arising out of their separation and divorce.
Service is important to Hillary. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Alamance County Bar Association and has helped to organize the Alamance County Bar Association's Relay for Life team the last few years.
